If yes, consider applying for the National Inclusion Awards 2016
The CARA National Inclusion Awards, established in 2012 recognises organisations and people who contribute to the provision of people with disabilities in sport and physical activity throughout Ireland.
With the support of the Department of Justice, the purpose of the awards is to highlight and acknowledge best practice in relation to enhancing opportunities for people with disabilities to participate within their local communities.
The award categories include:
The application process is relatively quick and easy and involves the completion of a simple online template detailing what your organisation is currently doing in providing sport and physical activity opportunities for people with disabilities
“…go ahead and apply and gain from the application process as organisation will be the better for it” (previous applicant, 2015)
It is our primary focus for 2016, to get as many applications in for these awards, so be sure to spread the word and pass on the information to any organisation, school, club etc.!!
Previous winners describes how their organisation has benefited “Right from the off the application process got us to focus upon our work in including people with disabilities on our programmes and on welcoming them to our facilities.” This process gave us a confidence in were we are at in terms of the Cappanalea operation at national standards and client expectations.
